Surflon leaders – flexible and reliable protection against pike teeth
Are you looking for a protective material that is as soft and pliable as fishing line, but guarantees 100% resistance to sharp predator teeth? In this category, you will find professional Surflon leaders – one of the most valued solutions among modern spinning anglers. Surflon is a technologically advanced steel braid (most often with a dense 7x7 weave, meaning it consists of as many as 49 microfibers), which has been additionally protected with a special, smooth nylon coating. Our fishing shop offers a wide selection of ready-made Surflon leaders of various lengths and strengths, ideal for any fishing spot.
Why choose Surflon leaders?
- Incredible softness: The dense weave makes the material behave extremely naturally in the water. It does not stiffen the rig and allows for perfect action of even the most delicate soft lures or small wobblers.
- Nylon protective coating: A special layer of plastic protects the steel core from delamination and corrosion in water, and also minimizes the risk of permanent deformation (shape memory).
- Fish safety: The smooth outer coating is safe for the predator – it does not injure its body or mouth during aggressive turns while fighting and retrieving.
- Discretion underwater: Surflon is very thin in relation to its enormous linear strength, and the matte finish of the coating eliminates light reflections, which does not scare cautious fish.
Application of Surflon in modern spinning
- Classic fall and jigging: Thanks to its flexibility, Surflon is an ideal choice for rigging soft baits on jig heads. The lure shimmers beautifully and maintains its unique action during the fall to the bottom.
- Light and medium spinning: It works perfectly with small artificial lures, such as spinning tails or small spoons, without excessively weighing down the front of the rig and without dampening the action of the wings.
